The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services into the community.
SASSA will probably be rendering expert services for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer treatment enquiries, plus the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed about the significant quantity of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The aim on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some substantial range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This can be due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no completely functional office committed to service the area regularly. The support SRD position established for intervention ordeals a superior inflow of probable beneficiaries, that makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to allow the servicing of all clients and improve access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
